Emery Schexnayder
Known to everyone as Coach Em, Emery joined his wife in this work after a lifetime of doing it informally. Friends, family, and colleagues have been coming to him for years, and he spent that time guiding people through hard seasons with patience and plain wisdom.
He works primarily with couples navigating the complexities of marriage, helping them reconnect and rebuild a stronger foundation. He is driven by a real belief in the power of lasting commitment, and he brings thirty eight years of his own marriage into every conversation.
Coach Em works as a coach, not a therapist. He co-leads couples coaching and the ReCONEXXION workshop with LaTura.
They have lived the long middle of a marriage themselves. That is a different qualification than a degree.
How we work
A few things you can expect from the first conversation onward.
We start with what you want different
Not a full history on day one. A clear picture of where you want to end up, and the first step toward it.
Plain language
No jargon, no lectures. If something is unclear, ask, and you will get a straight answer.
Your pace
Especially in trauma work. You set the speed, and nothing is forced.
Something to do this week
Every session should leave you with a practical next step, not only a thought to sit with.
