The short version

This website belongs to Golden Insights Therapy (LaTura Schexnayder, LPC, and Emery Schexnayder). We collect only what we need to reply to you, schedule you, and run your account. We do not sell your information. We do not run ads based on it.

This website is not a medical record

Nothing you type into a web form, a chat bubble, or a message on this site is part of your clinical record. Clinical records for counseling clients are kept in a separate, HIPAA compliant system. To add Name of the clinical records system and where to request records. Please keep web messages general and do not include detailed health information in a web form. Anything sensitive is better discussed by phone or in session.

What we collect

• Contact forms and the chat bubble. Your name, email, phone if you give it, what you are interested in, and your message. We use it to reply to you.
• Accounts. If you create an account, we store your name, email, phone, and the sessions, orders, and messages tied to that account.
• Bookings and orders. The service you chose, the date and time, the amount, and a short reference code.
• Community. If you join The Golden Circle, the posts and replies you write there are visible to other members and to the practice.
• Text messages. Only if you opt in. See the SMS terms.
• Basic usage data. Pages visited and general device information, if analytics is turned on (see below).

Who helps us run the site

We use a small number of service providers. Each one only receives what it needs for its job.

• Square for payments. You pay on a secure Square checkout page. Square handles your card; we never see or store your full card number. We keep the amount, the item, and Square's payment id so we can issue receipts and refunds.
• Resend to send email such as booking confirmations, payment links, and replies.
• Supabase to store accounts, bookings, orders, and messages.
• Netlify to host the website.
• Google Analytics, optionally, to see which pages are visited. It is off unless the practice turns it on. To add State whether analytics is enabled.
• Zoom for virtual sessions and the ReCONEXXION workshop.

How we use it

• To reply to your message and schedule you.
• To send booking confirmations, reminders, payment links, and receipts.
• To run your account and, if you join, the member community.
• To send occasional practice updates by email if you opted in. Every one of those has an unsubscribe link.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your information.
• We do not share it with advertisers.
• We do not use web form messages as clinical records.

Confidentiality in counseling

Counseling clients in Texas receive a separate notice of privacy practices and informed consent before the first session. That document, not this web page, governs how clinical information is protected and the limited situations where a counselor is required by law to disclose it. Coaching is not therapy and is not covered by the same rules, and we still treat what you share with care.

Keeping it safe

Accounts are protected by a password you choose. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to member information is limited to the practice. No system is perfect, so please do not put anything in a web form that you would not want stored on a server.

Your choices

• You can ask us to correct or delete the information tied to your account by emailing mymentalhealth@goldensinsights.com.
• You can unsubscribe from practice emails with the link at the bottom of any email.
• You can stop text messages by replying STOP.

Children

Adolescent counseling involves a parent or guardian. This website is not designed to collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
